The next school year for us is coming. This also means it is time to start putting a plan together. My starting point is making a list of the subjects we are planning to cover. After picking subjects, I then pick a book list to fit what we need to cover. First up is the subjects list. The actual list of subjects is easy. They need to study Bible, Math and various Language Arts topics. Then I always add some History and Science and hopefully Music and Art. Some of the subjects are ... View Post
Be Still
Be Still is my theme word (phrase really) for 2021. (you can find my last theme here from 2019) I've been thinking about it since sometime in October or November. In December, I nearly changed it to Fearless. In fact, I spent much of December debating between the two. But more on that another time. Some of my thoughts were about resting in God, being able to not stress, not be anxious, being able to adapt to the current circumstances and not push harder to get my plans done too. Picking ... Fear Not
This summer I touched briefly on fear (see article here). I have been thinking about fear a lot this year. It has saddened me to see the extent that it has gripped our society. Those letters can give us the encouragement to stand and press on in him - To be conquerors. In Revelation 1:13-16 (please go read it) we get a physical ... View Post
Season of Singing, part 3
Previously, in Season of Singing part 1 and part 2, we looked at how if we aren't worshiping Christ, then we are worshipping idols and incorporating worship in daily life. 10,000 things Continuing on with another quote from John Piper “God is always doing 10,000 things in your life, and you may be aware of 3 of them.” Just as we need to tune our hearts to Him? So we must also recognize and acknowledge how much he is doing in our lives? Do we remember that He is doing ... View Post
Season of Singing, part 2
So, we ended Season of Singing, part 1 looking at worship. We were designed to worship. And, if we aren't worshiping Christ, then we are worshipping idols. More on Worship To continue with worship, Revelation 5:11-13 shows us a picture of worship in heaven. A picture of the creatures and angels in heaven and on earth – all living creatures, or all created beings - worshipping. Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten ... View Post
