This year I'm actually using a planner. The beginning section is for thinking about the season you're in and planning your focus for the year. I've have never really done this before, but it set me thinking over the last couple of months and especially the last couple of weeks. I began with the idea of Diligence, but the word didn't quite fit with what I had in mind. After searching through a Thesaurus I came around to Faithfulness - Steadfast, Diligent, Grace. Farm life Summer 2018
Farm life and it's normal summer business had us spinning and working to keep priorities where they belong. We ran with swim team, kids at Young Life camp, gardens that wanted to grow weeds faster than the plants. It was cool well into July, cool enough to need to turn heaters on at times. Swim team Julia driving made 3 kids in swim team easier. The kids enjoy it. I love seeing their excitement at winning ribbons and beating their previous records. We saw the tangible results of ... Muttering, Murmuring, Ready for Anything
I want to share two tidbits that I have been thinking about lately. The first involves being ready and willing to do what God asks. The second deals with muttering and murmuring. In memory of…

They are people and more importantly they are your children no matter how little when they died. Even if you don't feel like it, ... View Post
Signs of Growth
Signs of Growth are all around right now - in the garden, in the kids. In the garden This is where we have spent much of our time lately, but the signs of growth are starting to show. Gardens take time. Time prepping the soil; time planting; time weeding. Last weekend, we had quite a bit of rain for here. The rain really brought out the plants, especially the corn. One day there wasn't any sign of corn, the next we had green spears all over their patch of ground. Also, we've already ... View Post
Training for godliness
Training for godliness, seems to be a recurring topic. Again this morning, those same words we must train...ourselves...in godliness. 1 Timothy 4:7-8 Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourselves for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come." First "Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths." Hmmm. Here my mind associates myths ... View Post
